For me, there is nothing more pleasing than a well-appointed home; one that is pretty to look at, but functional and comfortable. I once heard a gal tell a friend that she liked her house because it was beautiful, but it was
warm, inviting, and cozy, which made it a home, not a house.
So many people have a hard time breaking down what they want their home to look like and how to do it. For me, that comes easy. For example, thinking out of the box to incorporate a piece of farm equipment into a design or envisioning a complete change to the layout of a room is something that just flows from my brain.
Why do I love interior decorating? I love it because seeing a well-designed room where the paint, the furniture, the ‘smalls’ all come together brings peace to my soul. I also love thinking outside the box. Just because everyone else is doing it doesn’t mean that we have to. I want to do something different, to set my clients and myself apart. I don’t ever use any idea twice. It keeps me on my toes and challenges me to really dig deep to create a look that you haven’t seen before.
People that know me well learn very quickly that I am half administrative and half creative. That is so important in the field of interior design, especially if you are the business owner. My scope of knowledge and experience allow me to wear both hats effectively: being both creative and managing the project to get the job done.
My hope and prayer is that all my clients know how excited we get for the opportunity to partner with them to create the living space of their dreams!
